# Managing issues

> The Open, Resolved, and Archived states an issue can be in.

When looking at an issue (a collection of signals), there are three states that can be assigned:

* **Open**: This is the default state we use to indicate a new issue, or one that hasn’t been resolved or archived.
* **Resolved**: Marks the issue as fixed, and will reopen automatically if it’s found again. This is helpful once you’ve shipped the relevant code change to fix the issue.
* **Archived**: Dismisses the issue entirely, and it won’t reopen again. This is useful if you disagree with the issue, or simply don’t want to be notified about it ever again.
